Today is Saturday, and I’m guessing quite a few members of the party of defeat feel it couldn’t have come soon enough. This past week, without question, has been a nightmare for the far left.

First, there was the fabricated issue of Rush Limbaugh’s remarks about “phony soldiers”. Media Matters, a tool of the far left in disseminating false accusations amongst the mainstream media in an attempt to present them as fact to the masses, has once again pulled the MSM into a story with no merit. And unfortunately, the media fell for it hook, line, and sinker.

In other words… business as usual.

What makes it worse, though, is that the Democrats jumped on the bandwagon. Not only did they test the water, they did a swan dive.

Meanwhile… we Americans sit here scratching our heads thinking, “what happened to illegal immigration, social security, and tax reform?” There is no question, we’re stuck with a do nothing congress.

The funny thing is, this do nothing congress is pandering to a number of Americans that continues to get smaller and smaller. It’s not that these people are bailing out on the cause; Rather, it’s that they never existed.

Most level headed conservatives understand that when anti-war protectors hit the streets in a frantic act aimed at gaining attention, their numbers are relatively small compared to the silent majority. But do Democrats understand this?

Apparently not. You see… the Democrats have been in submission to the likes of far left websites such as Daily KOS. They pander to this group on a daily basis, making every effort to keep the liberal gang happy. They’ve done this because they’ve been led to believe this group represented a vast number of Democrats.

Note to Dems… you’ve been duped.

Keep in mind that Daily KOS claims to have an average of 500,000 unique readers per day.

Extrapolating from Kos’ page view number, a more accurate “visitor” number for Kos would be in the neighborhood of 283,000. If Kos is a stickier site than MyDD or OpenLeft (a fair assumption), that number is probably lower. That works out to an artificial inflation in the accepted Daily Kos traffic number of about 60%.

Daily KOSNeed more proof? Read it and weep. Or, as in my case, laugh your ass off.

Granted, I’ve known their numbers were inflated for years. As are many of the stats provided by some of the elite conservative blogs and websites. I’ve had extensive experience with Sitemeter, Statcounter, Google Analytics, and many other stat counter tools. Over the years I’ve learned that none of them are accurate because of the way they count viewers.

SiteMeter only accounts for the last 100 visitors individually. On a site like Daily Kos, the 100th most recent visitor could have been 15 seconds ago. If you are the 101st most recent visitor and you click on a new page, you are counted as a new unique visitor in SiteMeter’s all important count. On a normal site, this wouldn’t matter, since it’s highly unlikely you’ll stick around long enough to have 100 others show up after you. On a site with hundreds of thousands of page views a day, it’s extremely likely you will.

I usually keep quiet about this sort of thing. My sites only see an average of about 3,000 to 5,000 unique (don’t worry, I have my own stat counting program) visits per day, so I’ve always felt that if I mentioned this flaw with mainstream stat tools that people would just grumble about my complaint and brush it off. Which makes sense, because I never had proof outside of my own stats.

But now the cat is out of the bag. Daily KOS isn’t near as big as he’s claimed to be, and the world now knows it.

Typical of the left… exaggerate EVERYTHING you say.

Needless to say, it’s been a tough week for the left.
