Imogen HeapA few weeks back I was watching some random video on YouTube when I noticed a fascinating song in the background that used a beautiful blend of vocal effects to create perfect harmony. After a quick search for the lyrics, I found it to be the song “Hide and Seek” by Imogen Heap. (Watch the video on YouTube here)

Today I stumbled upon a various artist compilation at Best Buy that contained a brand new re-mix of Hide and Seek. The song was remixed by Jethro East and Lee Davey.

I’ll host the mp3 here as long as the bandwidth doesn’t get out of control. Enjoy!

My last post about winter wallpapers got me thinking about my desktop. I love my current desktop wallpaper and theme, but I wonder if I should try something with a winter feel.

This is a screen shot of my current desktop.

I have some custom icons over the Linux Ubuntu wallpaper image and it looks pretty slick. So… adding a winter wallpaper would likely require a little bit of work on my icons so that they could be clearly seen over the new background.

I’ll have to give it some thought.

In the meantime, if you’re on the hunt for a good Continue Reading

Good… God. We’re surrounded by pansies.

School officials say the 5th grader was brown-bagging it. She brought a piece of steak for her lunch, but she also brought a steak knife. That’s when deputies were called.

It happened in the cafeteria at Sunrise Elementary School. The 10-year-old used the knife to cut the meat.

“She did not use it inappropriately. She did not threaten anyone with it. She didn’t pull it out and brandish it. Nothing of that nature,” explained Marion County School Spokesman Kevin Christian.

But a couple of teachers took the utensil and called the sheriff. When deputies arrived, they were unable to get the child’s parents on the phone, so they arrested her and took her to the county’s juvenile assessment center.

It’s probably fair to assume the parents actually packed the steak knife for the girl to use with her lunch. I bet they never once thought it would result in felony charges.

Unbelievable.
