Well, not necessarily my “top five picks” of all time; Rather, my top five picks from the Smashing Magazine 100 Excellent Wordpress Themes list.
#1: WP-Polaroid
I was pleased to see Adii release a public version of his own theme late last year. I’ve always been a fan of his blog design and it’s good to know that the rest of us are now welcome to use it.

#2: Structure
This is the coded theme we’re using over at ConservaBlogs.com.
Structure is a FREE magazine or news site Wordpress theme created by Justin Tadlock. Having spent a good deal of time editing the files and working with the theme, I can say that this is one of the most user friendly magazine themes I’ve ever worked with.

#3: Lounge 2
Typically I avoid themes that use a lot of white and tend be lack color, but Lounge 2 is an exception.
I no longer use the theme, but when I did I enjoyed the extra functionality in the wide sidebar. Plus, the theme is clean and loads fairly quick.
#4: WP-Premium
Wow… just… WOW!

#5: Zeke 1.0
I haven’t used this one yet, but I really like the look and feel. I also like the ad placement section and the way content is given prominence, even though it’s a three column theme.
That being said… I would scrap the background.

What are your favorites from the SM 100 Wordpress themes list?

All very nice. Maybe I chose a theme too hastily.
