Rep. Chris Carney (D-Pa.), a pork loving liberal from Pennsylvania, has a pretty hefty challenge coming from Chris hackett, a conservative in the race for Congress.
Not only is Chris Hackett a solid candidate on his own, he also has some huge endorsements coming in from the liberty action realm as well as the blogosphere. RedState earlier endorsed Hackett for Congress, and now Club for Growth has followed suit.
“With his business background and his pro-growth campaign platform, Chris Hackett has demonstrated an intuitive understanding of the importance of limited-government, free-market policies in advancing economic growth,” said Club for Growth President Pat Toomey said in a statement.
Typically I don’t get excited about Republicans, but in this case I’m looking forward to seeing the outcome. Also, see the video below for Hackett’s latest ad on Carney.

Eric,
You are wrong on this one. DO a little checking. Don’t beleive the liberal media. Meuser is the better candidate. He need your support.
Joe,
I would be happy to entertain your suggestion, but I would appreciate it if you could provide a few reasons why you think he is a better candidate.
Care to try?

Eric,
Yes I will.
I know both candidates. I am not “friends” with either one or being paid by either one. I live in the 10th and supported our former congressman straight through till the end. The 10th is a conservative district now being represented by a liberal due to a mistake our former congressman made in his personal life.
THe day after the loss I decided that my “goal” for the next two years was to get a conservative back in the 10th to represent us.
I met all of the candidates several times. Spoke to many conservative people throughout the entire district and really did my homework. I put a tremendous amount of effort into finding the RIGHT candidate.
I and MANY others decided that Dan was the better candidate. We were aware of the “flaws” that his opponent his pointing out if you want to call them that. He contributed some money to D’s over the years, his company employed a couple of illegals 15 years ago, he might have missed confession once in the last two years and I’m not sure but I think he MIGHT have an unpaid parking ticket.
We checked his background and it is squeaky clean. No bad stuff that would derail the campaign. We decided that he was the better candidate of the two.
Dan was approached by some people who wanted to work for his campaign. They are conservatives (whom I used to respect)and were looking for jobs. One wanted 100k per year and one wanted 50k per year to join his team. He was told that if he PAID them they would “get the evangelical right wing voters” for him. Dan flatly refused because he didn’t feel that it was correct to “buy the christian vote.” Dan had REAL support by that point from REAL conservatives and Evangelical CHristians voters for the RIGHT reasons. It wasn’t necessary or proper to “buy the vote”.
The other candidate had NO SUPPORT at that point throughout the district for MANY reasons. He hired the two people who could “deliver” the conservative vote. These two people went to their friends and have been able to secure some endorsements (redstates, eagle forum, Toomey) because Mr. Hackett is now reading from their cliff notes. The Club must have sent an email blast out to you and other bloggers because you have now jumped on this Liberal turned conservative badwagon that I call the HAckett campaign.
I can get into details about the candidates if you want. But I thought maybe the background would be a good place to start.
Chris, started out the campaign as pro-choice. There are documents he had printed that he passed out early on that point that out. Many folks in the district still have them. He also announced that to several groups of people early on.
Then he “bought the vote”…..
Tommey completely blew it on this one. IF Dan had hired the two people when they asked for jobs he would have the “Club’s” endorsement now and you and I wouldn’t be having this discussion.
and remember….vote republican because everyone can’t be on welfare
