More Digitally Imported ear candy
As always, major props are due for Ari Shohat and Digitally Imported.
Ari, a web entrepreneur who I have watched for some time now, has put together a powerful set of beat fan havens. Specifically, DI and Sky. Apart from Ari’s superb ability to succeed in the online music realm, he has perfected the practice of blending mixes into delicious doses of mind medicine.
DI’s Tribal House had me hooked a few months back. Now I find myself stuck on the Funky House mix.
I highly recommend you give it a try.
It’s been a VERY busy Saturday. I’ve had to swim around Wordpress code all day. Both on this blog, as well as several others.
Working in the Wordpress code structure is something I actually enjoy, providing I have very loud and very well paced trance music pumping in to my head. I never have been able to figure out why, but for some reason the blends of electronically created sounds and melodies keep me focused and I tend to be far more productive when the beats are flowing non stop.
Usually I pull down mp3’s from various websites and blogs who have peeps who mix them and toss them on to a page for free downloads. But for the last week or two I’ve been stuck on one of the Digitally Imported streams.
In this case, it’s the Tribal House Stream. My love for house isn’t anywhere near as strong as it is for trance, but the DI Tribal House stream is starting to pull me a little in that direction.
I’ll admit it… I’ve spent far too much money on music over the past few years. I’ve probably spent well over $1,000 on CD’s during the past ten years, and more than $300 on iTunes (that was back when I was still using Microsoft Windows… now I’m on ubuntu and I don’t use ITunes). I love music, and I love to constantly have a lot of it readily available.
But recently I’ve been met with insult after insult when spending my hard earned money on music and DVD’s. Normally I’m able to ignore the record label lawsuit war on its own community, but now I find myself starting to feel the heat. And I haven’t even done anything wrong!!!
Let me set this up real quick… bear with me for a few paragraphs if you don’t mind. Continue Reading
A few weeks back I was watching some random video on YouTube when I noticed a fascinating song in the background that used a beautiful blend of vocal effects to create perfect harmony. After a quick search for the lyrics, I found it to be the song “Hide and Seek” by Imogen Heap. (Watch the video on YouTube here)
Today I stumbled upon a various artist compilation at Best Buy that contained a brand new re-mix of Hide and Seek. The song was remixed by Jethro East and Lee Davey.
I’ll host the mp3 here as long as the bandwidth doesn’t get out of control. Enjoy!
