The Blogrush Flush
Yesterday I posted a little tidbit about the apparent Blogrush scam that is currently causing a lot of chatter across the sphere. At the time of the post I didn’t realize how big the scam had become, but after looking a little deeper… I’ve been enlightened.
Earlier this evening I found a blistering post claiming that Blogrush is ran by idiots. After reading that post I stumbled on to this post about the Blogrush scam. Then, I found a September post at Mashable which begged the question, “BlogRush: Traffic Generator or Pyramid Scheme?”

BlogRush: 8 Reasons to Be Wary…and Optimistic
Obviously I’m a little late on this story, but it’s still quite disgusting to watch it all unfold. Like I said in my first post on this, I felt the whole deal sounded crappy from the start.
John Reese, a man who made a million bucks from selling a thousand DVD’s that explained how to make a million bucks must have thought to himself “huh, this new media thing looks nice and shiny. I want it!”
Basically, Reese created an instant buzz with a state of the art widget that promised the world, yet came through with nothing. Some are claiming Reese used the widget to gain mass backlinks and free e-real estate for his affiliate links.
Either way… it’s turning out to be nothing more than a failure.
So is BlogRush worth installing on your blog? Not at all.
FreshVisionMedia.com has brought about a plethora of new blogs for me to maintain. It’s going to require a lot of work, but I look forward to the challenge and I’m excited about getting these projects up and running.
So far I’ve built the main blog, my personal blog, a new blogging tips blog (under construction), and now this search engine watch blog.
From an SEO standpoint, I’ve got a TON of work to do! I need to work out all of the code kinks on each blog, get all of the meta data in place, install XML sitemaps and adjust them accordingly, and make sure my URL structure is working properly. For the first few weeks things will look a bit messy, but I’ll eventually get it all up to par.
So what this blog all about? Well, I’ve been meaning to start a search engine industry blog. I used to run a blog that tracked certain news related to search engines and web based chatter, but it was thrown in with a bunch of other subjects so those posts always ended up lumped in with irrelevant content. This time I plan on doing things differently.
In this case… I plan on keeping this blog specific to the subject of search engines and tech/internet related topics.
Strap on the RSS feeds and get comfy. It’s going to be a great ride!
